'YAR SADAKA 2

STORY & WRITING BY MOMN SULTAN

JOY AND WEDDING PREPARATIONS

Yasmeen lay on her mother’s lap, pouting as she said,

"Mama, my head hurts. I feel like I can’t be away from you."

Her mother smiled but before she could respond, Yasmeen’s father, Daddy, walked into the room.

"Bride’s mother, where are you? Why are you here with your daughter while everyone is outside?"

Mama replied with a chuckle,

"Wallahi, I’ve been struggling with her for hours. She won’t leave my side, always acting like a baby."

Daddy laughed as Yasmeen looked down, embarrassed. However, when he mentioned that guests had arrived for the wedding preparations, Yasmeen excitedly ran out of the room, thrilled to hear that her wedding was near.

NIJLAH’S INNER TURMOIL

Elsewhere, Nijlah sat alone in her room, feeling an unusual restlessness. Her heart pounded, and she couldn’t understand why. Thoughts of Mashkur consumed her mind. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t forget him.

As she sat lost in thought, Mujaheed entered the room, smiling.

"Baby, are you okay? Why are you sitting alone?"

She forced a smile.

"I’m fine, just resting."

Mujaheed moved closer, looking deeply into her eyes with a love that only grew stronger.

THE WEDDING DAY APPROACHES

At the family’s grand living room, laughter and excitement filled the air. Different dishes were being served, and guests were enjoying themselves. Aunty Lateefah approached Mummy and asked,

"Mummy, what would you like to eat? The house will soon be full of wedding guests, and you may not have time later."

Mummy smiled.

"I don’t need food today. I am already full of joy because my son is marrying the right woman."

Lateefah then asked,

"Where is Nijlah? I haven’t seen her."

Mummy scoffed.

"Why are you looking for her? If she were here, this wedding wouldn’t have happened. Mashkur would never have moved on."

Meanwhile, Mashkur, the groom, was lost in his own world. He said to his best friend, Nasir,

"I wish Nijlah were here. I would have made sure we wore matching outfits to the wedding party."

Ahmad, another friend, laughed.

"Are you serious? Have you forgotten how jealous Yasmeen is?"

Mashkur sighed deeply, realizing that no matter what he did, he could not erase Nijlah from his heart.

YASMEEN AND MASHKUR'S MOMENTS

Back in Yasmeen’s room, she felt anxious. She had been waiting all day for Mashkur to call, but he hadn’t. When she finally answered his call, she sniffled dramatically,

"Baby, why didn’t you call me all day? I kept calling, but you didn’t answer!"

Mashkur chuckled.

"I’m so sorry, my love. You know how busy I’ve been with the wedding plans."

Yasmeen smiled as she playfully responded,

"Still, you should have at least checked on me!"

Mashkur reassured her.

"I promise, after today, I’ll never ignore your calls again. Soon, we’ll be together forever."

WEDDING DAY AND HUSNA'S WORRIES

At the same time, Husna was struggling with unease. She didn’t want Nijlah to get married under these circumstances. Her husband, Daddy Ayman, noticed and asked,

"Husna, what’s wrong?"

She hesitated before responding,

"Nothing, I just woke up feeling a little sick."

Daddy Ayman wasn’t convinced but chose not to push further.

As dawn broke, Husna secretly called her friend Lateefah.

"Kawata (my friend), there’s a problem. I need your help!"

Lateefah asked,

"What happened?"

Husna sighed.

"Let’s talk in the morning. I don’t want Daddy Ayman to overhear."

Meanwhile, as Mujaheed and Nijlah returned home from a hospital visit, Husna anxiously waited. She feared the wedding would take place without Nijlah’s true consent.

A FORCED WEDDING?

Nijlah sat alone in her room, crying. She had no idea why her heart ached so much. Husna entered and found her sobbing.

"Nijlah, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?"

Nijlah wiped her tears and whispered,

"Aunty, I can’t do this wedding. I can’t forget Mashkur."

Husna felt sympathy for her but knew there was no way out. The wedding was only hours away.

MASHKUR’S UNFORGIVABLE MISTAKE

On the morning of his wedding, Mashkur decided to visit Yasmeen. He met her father on the way and respectfully greeted him.

"Go inside, Mashkur. This is your house now."

But Mashkur hesitated.

"I’ll wait outside. There are too many guests inside. Just send Yasmeen out."

When Yasmeen stepped out, he smiled.

"Wow, baby, you look beautiful!"

She blushed as he pulled her onto his lap, staring into her eyes. But then he whispered,

"I missed you, Nijlah."

Yasmeen’s entire body stiffened. She looked at him in shock.

"What did you just call me?"

Mashkur's eyes widened in horror. He realized his mistake.

LOVE OR A MISTAKE?

Mujaheed was ecstatic about his wedding, looking forward to a happy life with Nijlah. But Nijlah, even as her wedding approached, kept thinking of Mashkur.

The night before the ceremony, she couldn’t sleep. She asked herself,

"Am I really ready for this? Can I ever forget Mashkur?"

A voice inside her answered,

"It doesn’t matter anymore. The decision has already been made."

As the wedding preparations continued, some people were overjoyed, while others were drowning in confusion.
